Government Incentives
The best news about traineeships is that Government provides a number of incentives to boost numbers and subsidise costs to employers. These incentives range from $1,250 up to $4,000 and are paid directly to the employer.
How can I train my staff and cover the training costs with Government Funding?
The government operates a funding program called “User Choice” to pre-qualified Registered Training Organisations (RTO’s) like Club Training Australia. In most cases, the funding covers the complete cost of training and in some circumstances, additional incentives paid directly to the students.
For eligible participants this training can be funded by the Queensland Government under a User Choice Agreement.
Where does the money come from?
The User Choice program provides public funding for the delivery of accredited, entry-level training to apprentices and trainees.
The program works in conjunction with the Australian Government Apprenticeships System, under which apprentices and trainees (also known in some jurisdictions as “Australian Apprentices”) enter into legally binding training contracts with their employers and receive structured training to achieve a nationally recognised qualification.
Can all of my staff have their training costs covered by Government Funding?
Traineeships or Apprenticeships are available for new employees who are employed either full-time or part-time. Funding and incentives are subject to eligibility conditions, contact Bill Alexion or Jonathan Waller to discuss staff eligibility.
