RSA training is mandatory in most Australian states
Most licensed venues in Australia require their staff to complete a Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) training course before commencing employment. A copy of the RSA certificate needs to be kept at the venue.
Research suggests a strong association between alcohol, violence, crime and anti-social behaviour. Though the law varies in each state and territory, federally RSA is a harm minimisation best practice to reduce the negative impacts of alcohol use.
