What is mandatory responsible service of alcohol (RSA) training?
On 1 January 2009, it became mandatory for certain persons involved in Queensland’s liquor industry to have a current RSA training course certificate issued for successful completion of the RSA training course conducted by an Office of Liquor and Gaming Regulation (OLGR) approved trainer.
Who must do RSA training?
All licensees must ensure the following persons have a current training course certificate in RSA:
- the licensee (if an individual)
- a member of staff of the licensed premises who is involved in the service or supply of liquor at the premises.
Staff members involved in the service or supply of liquor include approved managers, bartenders, glass collectors, floor hostesses and room service staff.
Does the course content meet the Queensland Government requirements?
Yes! Club Training Australia is an approved Registered Training Organisation (RTO) by Office of Liquor, Gaming and Racing: Liquor Licensing Division (OLGR). The Club Training Australia online course SITHFAB009A Provide Responsible Service of Alcohol is endorsed under the National Training Package of the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF).
How long will it take to complete my online training course?
You should allow approximately four (4) hours to complete your course.
How long do I have to complete my online training course?
From the time of enrolment you have six weeks (6) weeks to complete your course.
You can log into the e-Learning Centre as many times as you like during that six (6) weeks, so you do not have to complete your course in one session. As you work through your training course, the your progress is recorded by the e-Learning Centre, so next time you log in, the course will resume where you left during the your last session.
When undertaking assessments and activities, periodically save your answers to avoid data loss.
How will I be notified of my results?
After you have completed the course your answers will be reviewed by our qualified assessors. You can check your progress at anytime inside the eLearning Centre.
You will be notified by email within two (2) working days of completion with your results. If you are successful, your OLGR approved Training Course Certificate will be emailed to you.
One of our assessors will contact you directly and provide additional tuition if you do not meet competency. Students who fail to make competency after assistance with an assessor will be offered a place in a Club Training Australia face-to-face course. Students may incur an additional fee to participate.

What do I need to undertake this training course?
Minimum System Requirements
- Audio: sound card and speakers or headphones for listening
- Internet connection: 56 Kbps for self-paced courses (caution: if video is present, it may be poor at this speed)
- Screen resolution: at least 800 x 600
- Internet browser: IE 7 or greater, Firefox 2 or greater, browser set to accept cookies and to show the newest version of a page
- Pop-up blocker: must be disabled
