SITHGAM006A – Provide Responsible Gambling Services
This online training course Responsible Service of Gambling (RSG) enables you to work in the Queensland gambling service industry. This training program meets the requirements of the ATQF and is a nationally recognised certification.
This unit deals with the skills and knowledge required to satisfy Queensland legislative requirements and the Responsible Gambling Code of Practice to provide responsible gambling services and to provide information and assistance to customers. This unit is appropriate for all staff working in a gambling environment.
Element 1- Provide Responsible Service of Gambling
Performance Criteria
- Follow procedures in accordance with relevant Sate/Territory legislation and industry/enterprise policy.
- Communicate with appropriate personnel on gambling-related incidents or situations and compliance with legislation and industry/enterprise policy.
- Maintain accurate records of gambling related incidents and related staff action in accordance with industry/enterprise policy and procedures.
- Ensure gambling environmental features support responsible gambling policies.
Element 2 - Provide Information and Assistance to Customers about Gambling
Performance Criteria
- Provide accurate player information to customers.
- Respond appropriately to requests for information.
- Follow procedures for self-exclusion requests in accordance with legislation, industry/enterprise policy and confidentiality/privacy requirements.
- Display signage and information related to responsible gambling in appropriate places visible to players according to industry/enterprise and legislative requirements.
- Provide information on available support services in accordance with confidentiality, privacy requirements, industry/enterprise and legislative requirements.
